We awoke early, and headed to the train station for the 3 hour ride to Florence. Trains are so civilized! First class seating, riding through the Tuscany countryside, dining in elegance, allowing us to arrive in Florence (Firenze) refreshed and rejuvenated.

Florence is a beautiful and compact city, with treasures dating back to the 1300's. Every doorway seems to be a work of art.
And, of course, the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge, with all of its gold sellers, straddling the Arno river.
