APPLE PEAR PIE

 

 

Pie crust for top and bottom

6 Cups total of thinly sliced, peeled apples and pears.

3/4 cup sugar

3 tablespoons flour

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

1 tablespoon lemon juice

 

Heat oven to 425*f. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients mix lightly. Prepare pie crust. Pour filling into bottom crust. Cover with top crust. Vent to let steam out. Bake at 425*f. For 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover crust with metal crust protectors. Put metal cookie sheet on bottom of pie to stop spilling into oven.
