A curious, uniquely Northern California Christmas tradition: the small, coastside town of Half Moon Bay, located about 40 miles south of San Francisco, on Route 1, has a thriving fishing community. Every Christmas, they have a contest for who can decorate their boat the best for the holiday. Though it's cold (in the 30's), and dark, people come from all over the Bay Area to enjoy this unique phenomenon.
