OK, enough of the warm ups! It was time to put the "scaling" of "Scaling The Internet" to the test!
Climb 70 feet up a rope ladder. Step onto a steel cable, and grab a hanging rope for your only support!
|
As Duncan Carling (above) shows, the next step is to shimmy out on the wire, holding your support rope in your left hand. Then, reach for another support rope! |
The great part about this exercise is the end! Avoid falling Duncans! |
|
Of course, there is more than a little challenge to this one. The rope in your left hand is only long enough to get you far enough out on the cable to be able to fully extend to grap the next support rope! |
Kevin Epstein sets the speed, and stability record! Once you are up there, the cable swings wildly, which makes it hard to grab the second support rope. To make it more complicated, after you grab the rope, as Kevin does above, you have to transfer your body to the other side of the cable, about 20 feet from where you started, to grab the rope hanging from the other tree. Kevin makes it look easy, and fast! |
Michael Taloff found the way to do it, and even "hung around" for a while! |
