Most people think that Sacramento is a sleepy city in the middle of the state. Actually, it's 2 1/2 hours northeast of us, in the Central Valley of Northern California. Besides being the state capitol, it also has a thriving Old Town, with history of the Wild West. It gets HOT, and we chose to go in the middle of the summer. Picture San Francisco at 60 degrees, cold and foggy, and Sacramento hot, sunny and 102 degrees! Gotta love those microclimates!
